Lymphatic system

The lymphatic system is a crucial component of the body's defense and transport mechanisms, working in tandem with the circulatory system. Comprising lymph nodes, vessels, tonsils, and the spleen, this network assists in maintaining fluid balance, filtering harmful substances, and supporting the immune system. Lymph, a clear fluid, circulates through lymphatic vessels, carrying white blood cells and waste products. Lymph nodes act as filters, removing pathogens and abnormal cells. The lymphatic system not only plays a pivotal role in immune response but also helps in the absorption of fats from the digestive system. In essence, it serves as a comprehensive surveillance and drainage system, safeguarding the body against infections and contributing to overall health.
